Nirvana is the proud recipient of a Satour 3-star grading for its self-catering facilities. New improvements include luxury tented accommodation with en-suite bathrooms, creating a charming "Out of Africa" atmosphere - even more reason to visit Nirvana. Another recent addition is a curio shop offering visitors a wide variety of mementos to choose from.

Guests are taken on game drives and treated to close-up views of numerous game species such as giraffe, blue wildebeest, impala, bushbuck, reedbuck, waterbuck, zebra and duiker. Encounters with lion, leopard, hyaena and jackal are often the highlight of these tours.

Another exciting adventure comes in the form of night tours during which the secretive ways of nocturnal creatures such as antbears, genets, bushbabies, nightjars and owls are explored. Nirvana Lodge is a bird-watcher's paradise. The four dams attract an interesting variety of waterbirds, including the giant kingfisher and other kingfisher species, herons and the African fish eagle which never fails to fill visitors with awe when its call echoes across the water at dawn or dusk.
